All Club Members: Great weekend of community, contribution & competition

9 Jun 2019 by Lindy Jones

It’s a relaxing long weekend for some, but not for the St Ives AFL community, as we’ve been busy fund-raising and participation in the annual AFL development and representative competition.

The Club Committee is sincerely grateful for the time given by all our families who attended to make yesterday’s Bunnings Sausage Sizzle a massive success with over $1,000 raised after selling 740 sausages and 140 drinks. Special thanks to our VP Commercial Geoff Wadeson for leading this initiative along with VP Club Operations Michael Macilquham.

We’re also delighted to let you know that St Ives AFL has been awarded a $30,000 State Government grant to fund much-needed equipment and facilities in our Acron Oval Clubhouse. Stay tuned for more details on improvements. Special thanks to VP Club Operations Michael Macilquham for achieving this great result for the Club.

This weekend, we also congratulate all the St Ives boys and girls who participated in the AFL reps and development carnivals all the way over at West Hoxton, with entry fees paid for by our Club. In particular, thanks to our Club Coaching Coordinator Dean Robinson who volunteered to coached the U10G North-West team that came 2nd in their comp and had 3 St. Ives girls participating.

Next week we’re back into Round 9 of our competition on the back of a great weekend of community, contribution and competition from our valued members and volunteers.
