Rd7 U9 White Wrap

Well another great effort by the whole team on Friday night under lights. It was a great Team effort with every one of the boys contributing to the result.

It really showed that size doesn’t matter when you want the ball more. The consistent 2nd, 3rd & fourth efforts on the ball from everyone was truly great to watch. The team was well led by Jake Cassisi-Nichols who could be seen on many occasions pushing for the ball time and time again.

The other great outcome was the teamwork, especially in the tacking of the bigger team the boys were always there to help their team mates out. That then transferred to when they had the ball and running to space.

The boys are starting to understand where to stand and numerous scoring shots resulted by a player standing in the right area. I have been assigning them different roles during the game and it is starting to payoff. This was seen with our first player of the week being William Rudd, William took on the role this week of playing the loose man across the back line and into the mid’s where he had the ball on a string for the whole game. I’m not sure of how many touches he got or how many of his kicks out of defence resulted in scoring shots but there were plenty. Well done William.

The second award this week went to Zach Fourie who once again contributed with a couple of goals but more importantly his constant attack on the ball and tackling. Well done Zach your hard efforts really paid off and it was great to watch.

I think the smiles on the boy’s faces at the end of the game and the passion they sang the club song with showed that fun was had by all.

We went into the game with a focus on team, mates & fun which we achieved.

Thanks to all the helpers on the night and to all of the spectators for cheering the boys on.

See you Thursday night
